Honest and Reliable

If a price quote is given, that is what you pay even if additional parts/labor is needed. When a repair is not feasible, we will not push to have the device repaired. Your data is treated as confidential and is never shared with others. Our prices are posted and will provide quotes for specific repairs.

Best Practices

Software

  • Keep copies of your software applications if it is not a subscription as you may not be able to obtain a copy of that version or possibly not able to get that software application.
  • Keep copies of your software keys even if you can retrieve the keys on line. There may be times where the company who made the software is bought out and does not maintain the older software keys for what you had.

Passwords

  • Do not use the same password for more than one account.
  • Do not store your passwords on you computer without being encrypted. Using an application like KeePass can store your passwords encrypted.
  • Backup your passwords in either paper form in a safe or on USB Flash Drive.
    *** Note: should not rely on just one USB Flash Drive as they can go bad and if using an application like KeyPass, it should be a standalone version.
  • Avoid storing passwords within your web browser to help prevent unauthorized access to your accounts.
  • Use a password to access your computer, do not use autologon
  • If your using Bitlocker, make sure you keep track of the recovery key for each of your computers using Bitlocker. Bitlocker can make it very difficult to wipe the drive and start over.

Microsoft OneDrive or other automated online storage

  • Make sure you understand how it functions. OneDrive allows files to be online-only to free up space on your computer's drive so you have it listed on your computer but it is stored online. OneDrive will also mirror the files over to another computer logged in witht the same account.
  • Understand how removing files work and if you are only removing from your computer or it is removing from both online and your computer and any other computers logged in with that account or linked account.
